K.C. Clifford: Guestbook

Heather Crognale

August 25, 2008

I saw you perform with Jami Smith this past weekend (8/23/08) in Oklahoma City at the Girls to Grand event, and wanted to let you know that your song touched me in a way I wasn't expecting it to, and I'm so thankful to you for that.

Thank you for sharing your soul and your talent with our girls -- role models like you are so wonderful!

KC - WOW - I can't explain it but I was just thinking about some of my favorite music and wondered what you were up to. I live in Houston now with my lovely bride Cara. I was excited that when I did a google search - there you were. I am enjoying reading what you have been up to and am glad to be back in touch. Any chance you will be in Houston sometime?

wow-i finally found your music! i met you and heard your music when you visited (re-visited) laureate to see melinda (a long while back-it seems now). i loved hearing you sing and play and it was a much needed breath of fresh air. i remember you sang a song--something to do with dorothy, or ruby slippers, or something along that line-i loved it. do you know what i'm speaking/writing about? anyway-i bought a cd on that day and from time to time have looked for your music with no luck. i'm happy today that i did. i hope you are well and happy. ever hear from melinda? best of everything to you. tracey-

You and I and iTunes make for strange bedfellows, with David Grohl on guitar. I was looking up the Foo Fighters' "Times Like These" and listened to a few other artists' songs of same name and slipped across your own.

Back in college in the 90's, I went to a lot of underground poetry/open mic nights and I'm sure you were never there. And I'm sure you could have walked right in. You have a friend's guitar, an honest pen and a voice I've heard over a comfortable cup of coffee.

All my best-
Sean

Hi KC---

I'm Beth Hall's friend who went to Florida with you and David a couple of years ago. I just wanted to tell you that immediately following that trip I "borrowed" Teeth-marks from Beth and told her I was never giving it back. I have kept my word. I recently put it back in my CD player (okay...by recently I mean 3 weeks ago)...and have let it cycle through every day since. It is the only music I have been listening to for 3 weeks, which is exactly what happened the last time I played it. This is glorious work, KC---lovely, lovely art.
Please let me know when you'll be in Nashville again and when there will be more music for me to add to my collection.
You are realllllllly fabulous, my friend.

Hi K.C.
Long time since you were here in San Antonio. We want to get up to Okemah for the Woody festival. Rachel and Niko are growing up quite nicely writing songs and singing with the family band. We have a regular Friday gig at The Cove where we met. Let us know if you want to come back down--we still have guest quarters that you can use for a song (literally). Is there a good songwriter venue that we could hit up your way? Have tents, will travel.

Hi K.C.,
I'm a friend of Bob and Diane's. (and yours) Of course I love your music and so does my son, who is 43. Your comments about mothers and daughters are profound for a woman of your young age. When I was 30, I thought I was so much smarter, dah, dah, dah, than my fashionable, stylish mother. She hadn't even finished highschool. (Heck, I haven't even finished college). Anyway, to make a long story longer, when MY daughter grew up and didn't want a respectful, loving relationship with her mother (that's me) I couldn't understand it! Aha, at about age in order ,to heal the relationship with my daughter, I had to heal the relationship with my own mother. And heal we did. I lost my mom to cancer 4 years ago. I have no regrets because we were able to have a wonderful, supportive, respectful and very loving and accepting relationship for the last quite a few years before she died. And guess what? Now my daughter and I pretty much have the same. Halleluia (sp). Wish you the best. You're a very wise soul.
